my new friends

we experienced a very slow relaxing wknd. many of our neighbors were home without the business of work/running around (most things were closed)... so we were able to connect with most of them. tonight was especially exciting... Carlos and Joy invited Kerri and I to an authentic "mexican" cookout. Carlos is from el salvador and when he invited me i could barely understand him. We hung out, ate too much and listened to stories about his home. He pulled out some of his favorite latino tunes... Carlos said that when he's listening to his music that the cares of his world all disappear - although i could barely understand his broken english over the blaring stereo. Good times had by all.
