This is a church that works for nonbelievers, where unnecessary barriers of traditional church are removed, via alternative worship gatherings, while at the same time integrating the spiritual in the warp and woof of everyday existence, by practicing the Divine Hours, for example. This is encouraging. But in too many cases, these postmodern alternatives confuse the symptom for the cause. The church is still conceived as another structure, albeit sacred, along side those of family, work, neighborhood, education, etc. The church is an add-on to real life in the world."

Provocative article. I share many of the same sentiments but I'm also relaxing a bit. A critique of the church current ( which church? ) will show many problems but the solution is not going back to a time when there were no bldgs, salarys, or programs. While I think most of what we do in these categorys needs to stop they aren't, of themselves, what's wrong. You'd probably agree. It seems that what is most important is to get the Gospel right (as best we can) then follows a good understanding of the Church. I think we're amazingly free when it comes to "how" we go about things. God must be ok with this. Having said all that, most evangelical churches today or way too complicated and cluttered. Serious change is needed.
Going to church is lame, boring and not very fun, why go to church when you can go to the beach and surf, its a much better way to spend your time, And you feel you've really put the petrol money to good use
